28 Years Later

​”28 Years Later” is an upcoming post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle, serving as the third installment in the 28 Days Later series. The film is scheduled for release on June 20, 2025. ​

Plot Summary: Set nearly three decades after the initial outbreak of the rage virus, “28 Years Later” follows a group of survivors residing on a secluded island off the coast of Northumberland, England. When a father and his son venture onto the mainland, they uncover unsettling truths about the world beyond their island sanctuary. ​

Trailer: The official trailer, released on December 10, 2024, features a haunting recitation of Rudyard Kipling’s “Boots” and hints at the film’s intense atmosphere. It quickly gained traction, becoming the most-watched horror trailer on YouTube at the time

Sequel Plans: “28 Years Later” is intended as the first film in a new trilogy. A sequel, tentatively titled “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,” is in development, with Nia DaCosta attached to direct. Principal photography for both films commenced in May 2024.
